The 2014 Russian Grand Prix will be held on a street circuit in Sochi, around Sochi Olympic Park. The Russian Grand Prix has signed a contract to host the race up to 2020. In fact, the Russian Grand Prix race in 2014 will be on the 100th year anniversary of the last Grand Prix held in Russia!

Russia has so far only had one F1 driver, Vitaly Petrov, who joined the F1 circuit in 2010 and has driven for Renault and Caterham. Unfortunately, he will not be driving in the Russian Grand Prix this year, as he was not signed by any F1 team and instead has signed a contract with Mercedes to drive in the German Touring Car (DTM) series. However, not all is lost, as a new Russian driver and newcomer to F1, Daniil Kvyat, will be driving for Scuderia Toro Rosso this year. Kvyat is just 19 years old and has been racing in Formula Renault and European Formula 3. Russian fans would love to see a home town win.
