Getting to and from the Spanish Grand Prix Circuit
The Circuit de Catalunya is located just 35km (22mi) north of the city of Barcelona, in the east coast of Spain in the region of Catalunya or Catalan. The track was purpose-built, so the transportation access is excellent.
The are numerous highways and roads that lead to the circuit from several different directions. From Barcelona head north towards Mataro on the A19 motorway and then turn off onto the C50 motorway that leads directly to the circuit. The A7 Autoroute (exit at Junction 13), A17 Autoroute and N152 road also service the Cricuit de Catalunya. There is also plenty of parking available, with 1,200 indoor and 25,000 outdoor parking spaces. The circuit also has a car wash and gas station.
There are two airports that spectators to the Spanish Grand Prix can use: Barcelona International Airport (El Prat de Llobragat) or Sabadell Airport. The international airport, which is located 13 km (8 mi) south-west of Barcelona or 47 km (75 mi) from the circuit, offers direct connections to most European cities, as well as some North American destinations. Both airports are well services by an array of public transport options. For those high-flyers, the Circuit de Catalunya had two helipads available for private use.
Alternatively, the circuit can easily be reached by train. There is a direct train connection that runs between Barcelona's Sants station (Line 2) to Montmel? railway station, which is within an easy walking distance from the circuit. The journey time is roughly 40 minutes from Barcelona and one hour from Gerona. During the Spanish Grand Prix and the Catalan Motorcycling Grand Prix, a transfer will be available from Montmel? train station to the Circuit de Catalunya, for those who do not want to walk.
